17th Annual PIC Auction 2009
Pierce Law Auction supports $24,000 for Public Interest Fellowships
Over one hundred New Hampshire businesses, friends and members of the Franklin Pierce Law Center community combined efforts to raise over $24,000 culminating at the 17th Annual Public Interest Coalition (PIC) Auction held on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the Grappone Center in Concord, NH. All proceeds from this event give Pierce Law students the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged people and families in our communities through Public Interest Fellowships.
Those in attendance helpted to increase access to justice for the underserved by vying for opportunities to done, shop, receive services and to visit exotic locales made available by area merchants and auction benefactors. Popular items included an African Safari for two and Boston Red Sox and Celtics tickets.
Event proceeds will make possible seven PIC Fellowships for the summer of 2009. Pierce Law students selected as PIC Fellows receive stipends to work in non-paying positions at local and national non-profits and governmental agencies dedicated to providing legal services to disadvantaged families and individuals.

“The PIC Auction provides us with an exciting and enjoyable opportunity to support students who want to delve into public interest law. Without PIC Auction support, so many deserving organizations in need of legal assistance would go without it...and so many students thirsting to serve the public interest would go unsatisfied. This is why so many New Hampshire lawyers and firms have enthusiastically embraced the call for support of the auction.”
